Sue Zoltner, owner, Legacy Friesians and Hindrik Lauwers.
Hindrik and Sue were Reserve Champions at First Level in 2010.  And also Reserve Champions at 2nd Level in 2011, and were 3rd at Region 6 Championships in 2011

Legacy Friesians is located in the heart of Oregon's wine country, in Newberg, Oregon.  We have only 3 select broodmares and we breed top quality foals.    Each foal that we breed has been  meticulously planned by choosing the best stallion to complement the mare.   Quality is what we breed, year after year.   Proof of this statement can be demonstrated by how our horses did at the 2010 keuring in Ridgefield, WA!

If we don't happen to have exactly what you want, we can refer you to a trusted friend and trainer in the Netherlands.

The founder and owner of Legacy Friesians, Sue Zoltner, is originally from Rochester, New York.  She has worked as an image scientist for Xerox corporation for over 19 years. (she still works there, full time)  From age 12-15, Sue took  hunt seat riding lessons at Huntington Meadow Stables in Webster, NY.  Although she couldn't have her own horse at that time, the dream of owning her own horse stayed with her.   In the 1990s-2003, the dream was put on the back burner as Sue dedicated all her free time towards being a competitive runner... running races from 5Ks to marathons.  In 2003, Sue was able to transfer to to Xerox's engineering center in Wilsonville, Oregon, and she decided it was time to make her horse dream come true and founded Legacy Friesians shortly after.   Sue's current hobbies include studying the Dutch language, taking dressage lessons, and of course uniting Friesians from the Netherlands with their new loving American owners.

Janet, Our business partner in Holland, has a keen eye for finding us the best sale
horses!!  Janet's father was the breeder of the approved stallion, Tjesse 400, and he still runs the Oosterland stable.  Janet is an expert at keuring preparation and comes over every year to help us at our local keuring.

Sylvia Lindstrom has been training Friesians for over 20 years and lives in Sweden.
She is partnered with Legacy Friesians and comes over at least once a year to conduct clinics/demos and intensively trains our horses.  She will be offering horses for sale that are trained to higher levels than we can normally get.  Right now she is training a Sibald 380 stallion who is coming along very nicely, and is working on the Spanish walk and he's only 4 and a half years old!!!
