Mohair
Beart 411

Congratulations to Monique and David Stevens and their 4 lovely daughters!  Mohair is now at her new home in Bremerton WA!!!!  Here is a letter from Monique:

" Have you ever had a dream?  Something you imagine, wish for, pray for?
I have.  I saw myself with a graceful gentle giant of a horse.  I would
watch her run and romp and marvel at her high stepping trot.  She
would follow me around and want to be with me every second.  No matter
her age she would be safe and slow to spook.  She would represent
the best of the Friesian world and have the pedigree to prove it.  She
would come from a loving home and fit in well with my horses, dog,
cats and daughters.  This dream has been mine for as long as I can
remember.  Sue Zoltner of Legacy Friesians gave me my dream!
Her name is Mohair.  An amazing 2-year-old filly
out of Beart 411.   Mohair is everything I wanted and more!  Sue made every
step of my purchase easy.  She left nothing unsaid or undone.  Sue represented
Mohair accurately and completely.  She was easy to deal with
and communicated clearly, quickly and consistently. Sue was patient
with my endless questions and I never felt in the least
bit pressured.  I think I’ve emailed Sue a hundred times. She
always promptly responded with a cheerful disposition, even after
I got my horse home.  Sue loves each of her horses.  I noticed she let a few tears
fall when Mohair loaded up into our trailer.
The first time I went to look at Mohair my eight year old went
into the stall and promptly picked up the fillies feet. Just like that….
A 2-year-old horse!  My four young daughters crawled all over her and she
just stood there like it was nothing.
It is without reservation of any sort that I recommend Sue and Legacy Friesians.
In fact, the vet I hired to do the prepurchase exam (Willamette Valley Equine) said
and I quote, “ I have never seen anything but quality come from the horses Sue imports.”
This vet said, “ I can’t find one single thing wrong with this horse.  I have no reservations whatsoever.”  The vet went on to say that she found the horse extremely well balanced and said that she felt the trainer Sue hired did a wonderful job.
Please ask Sue to give you my email address and or phone number and I’ll tell you all about my wonderful experience with her and my Mohair.  Let Sue help you make your dreams come true. You won’t regret it for a moment. I sure don’t!  "

Hello-  Just wanted to let you know that Mohair is doing well under saddle.  She's so sweet.  Everyone at Foxglove farms (where she is in training) loves her.  She's also growing like a weed! We measured her with an "official" stick today at 16.2H! She's still a tad butt high too!  BIG GIRL but still a big baby.  She's go to her first schooling show the end of January.  Halter and walk-trot classes.  Thanks for making her ours as we love her so.   We all adore her to pieces.  XXXOO Monique

Hello--
Writing to let you know that Mohair (Trynn) is doing great under saddle.  She's just finishing up her 90 days!  She went to her first schooling show last Saturday and did great.  She was nervous, of course,  but still entered 5 classes under saddle.  She got 1 1st, 2 2nds, 1 3rd and 1 4th.   I am so proud of her.   I've ridden her and so has my oldest daughter.  She is very soft in the mouth but does require a fair amount of leg pressure to keep her forward.  We suspended canter work under saddle and instead spend a lot of time on transitions.  She has a great stop and MAN does she get attention when she goes out!   Her muscles are developed nicely and she's in great shape.  I'm very proud of her accomplishments and will take her to another show in a few weeks.  She's a good girl.   We love her.

Hello-- Sending a few pics of our girl with Tori.  They are really starting to click together hunt.  Remember
that Mohair hasn't even been under saddle 9 months yet and she has a ten year old riding her! Tori and Mohair
got highpoint at the Saddle Club Pink Ribbon Round Up recently.  This just goes to show how wonderful horses
from Legacy Friesians are!  I am so proud of our BIG girl (she's so tall)!  She's brave and learns fast.  She's
safe and such a good girl.  She's trail riding regularly now too and trying so hard for me.  I love this horse!
Always--   Monique

Here are some new photos of Mohair at her new home:

Monique's daughters supplied me with these beautiful drawings!

Mohair is a 2+ year old mare sired by Beart 411, this year's world champion.

Her sire is this year's World Champion, Beart 411, who stunned the crowd at the stallion show with his amazing trot, and won the intensely competitive class in Leeuwarden, Holland
(see video of Beart 411)!

Mohair's inbreeding coefficient is only 2.15%  She got a 2nd premie at her foal keuring.

Mohair is from Stam line 61, a line whom has produced the famous Model preferent mare, Nedia, mother of 4 model mares, 4 approved stallions, and 10 preferents!  The 4th generation mare on Mohair's pedigree paper is Rolanda, was a very famous horse in Holland, a legend of her time.  Rolanda won over 60 competitions in single horse driving.  The breeding power of this stam line is reflected in prizes won by Rolanda by the Breeding Groups in Holland.  Rolanda won, not once, but 5 TIMES the Blauwhuis' best breeding group award, which is an honor that has never been repeated.

Click here to see Mohair's pedigree and note ROLANDA model-pref is the 4th generation on her motherline.

Check out Mohair's lunging video from April 2nd
