Tessa P.J.

Tessa PJ is an imported full papered third premie studbook mare who is 4 years old.  She is  stunning and has so much presence!!!   She has a beautiful, jet black shiny coat that stays short in the winter  She is already 16 hands tall.  It's very hard for me to sell Tessa.  It was my plan to keep her, but I just won't have enough stalls next winter since I've become so attached to Harmina already, and I can't keep them all, as much as I would like to!  I am however in no hurry to sell her, because she's getting nicer and nicer as she matures, and she is fun to ride!  She is at a bargain price right now only because she's green under saddle, but she won't be for too much longer. I rode her today after she had the winter off and she was wonderful!!!!

Tessa's dam is a tall, gorgeous, tall and baroque style, full papered Star mare.   Her  motherline is Ster-  Ster+Pref-   Ster   -Ster! Tessa is from Stam 27, the same line as world champion 2009 Maurus 441, Jasper 366 and Rypke 321- a line known for producing powerful offspring with great work ethics and great temperament.  Tessa got a 2nd premie at her foal keuring in the Netherlands, at an intensely competitive keuring.  The 6th generation mare in Tessa's motherline, Magreet Ster+Pref, was out of the same dam (the famous Elskje) as the dam of JASPER 366.

Tessa's bloodlines are unique and rare for this country.  Tessa can cross very well with many great stallions in the USA-most are below 2 percent inbreeding.

I took Tessa to her adult keuring in Sept 2009, and she just missed star- they made one mare in her class 2nd premie star, and then they liked Tessa next best, but they gave her a 3rd premie studbook ranking.  They said her walk was good (she got a 7 on her walk, which is good enough for star!), and her trot front end was good but her rear legs needed more power, and that can be trained in.  I should have waited until she was 4 to take her because she's still growing, but she can be tried again when she's fully mature.
Tessa is very friendly and will come running from the field to be with people.  She ADORES attention.  She's great for the farrier and for loading in trailers.

Tessa does not have a spooky personality, she is very curious !
Tessa has been ridden on trails, in an indoor arena, and in an outdoor arena
If you ever want her to stop, just say whoa, and she will stop immediately.
She also has a very easy trot to sit.

video from February 28, 2010 -  this starts out with Tessa Free in the arena
and progresses to my first ride on her after she's had the winter off.
I had to put the video camera on a fence post and then ride by it a lot as I didn't have anyone to help me take the video!!
